The cooler climate in the Anderson Valley is widely known for its cultivation of Pinot Noir.Although many areas of California experienced record sun hours – at 1800 feet and 13 nautical miles from the cool breezes of the Pacific Ocean - fruit struggled to ripen. Harvested October 10th, sugar and acid were balanced and the fruit was beautiful in color; the extra hang-time resulted in no compromise of fruit quality, a rare and exhilarating achievement.
A six (6) acre vineyard that pushes the vines to the limit; situated 1800 feet above the town of Boonville, California you’ll find our Romas Vineyard. A sight to be seen from the mountaintop, the vineyard offers a spectacular 360 degree view of Anderson Valley, as well as a unique perspective for overseeing our Pinot Noir grapes throughout the growing season. One thing we have been able to count on is our Romas Vineyard consistently yielding highly aromatic, elegant and age worthy Pinot Noir.
Dark reddish purple color in the glass. Aromas of black cherry, cola, spice, sweet pipe smoke and even a hint of diaper. Full-bodied, with a delectable sweet black cherry core accented with notes of spice and stem. The fine-grain tannins are modest and the wine tempts with a pleasing finish.
