Santa Maria • Santa Cruz
A 50/50 blend from our vineyards planted the Santa Maria Valley and Santa Cruz Mountains. California’s Central Coast is dynamic, as climate, topography, and soil types vary throughout the coastline. Warm days and a cool coastal afternoon breeze make this a truly unique and desirable region.
Our Central Coast blend is made from our vineyards that were planted in 1974, 1982 and 1992 located in the Santa Maria Valley and Santa Cruz Mountains. Influenced by winds from the Pacific Ocean, funneled into the vineyard areas by a series of important valleys and mountain gaps throughout the region; the cool climate of California’s Central Coast is excellently suited for Chardonnay. Soils range in depth and fertility across the Central Coast AVA, with the more mountainous soil types being more suited to quality.
The fruit shows through with candied lemon rind and Gala apple on the approachable, familiar nose. You’ll notice an exciting touch of zip to the palate, where lime cream and salted citrus flavors arise. Sleek acidity adds to a vibrant finish.
