Mendocino County, California
Planted exclusively to Pinot Noir in 1992, these low yielding vines are located on an exposed ridge influenced by cold pacific breezes, sustainable farming practices and thorough pruning ensure ideal cluster development. Our dry farming practices in the vineyard provide us with just another reason to be in the vineyard – staying true to our vineyard first approach.
Located just a short distance of approximately 10 to 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the AVA is prone to wide diurnal temperature variation of between 40 to 50 °F, this enables Pinot Noir growers to keep acid development in line with sugar and flavor formation through long, warm Indian summers.
Moderate reddish purple hue in the glass. There is a nice compliment of whole cluster goodness in this mid weight wine featuring aromas of charred plum, black cherry and exotic spice, and flavors of black raspberry, blueberry, spice and a thread of oak. Texturally appealing with fine grain tannins and a bit of citrus blessed acidity in the background.
Pommard clone. 25% whole cluster fermentation. Aged in French oak barrels. Unfined and unfiltered.
